Emmerdale fans STUNNED as Maya Stepney returns... And she's pregnant
But who's the father?!
Emmerdale fans breathed a sigh of relief when paedophile teacher Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) was jailed for grooming Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) earlier this year. Maya, who was in a relationship with Jacob's step-dad David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden), had been secretly grooming the teenager, and was sentenced to 12 months in prison.
But it all came crashing down when Maya was released from prison in last night's episode (19th Nov) after David and Jacob's mum Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) discovered that she might be getting out earlier this week.
When David and Leyla sat Jacob down to tell him she was getting released, he appeared to be not fussed about it - but viewers could see he was actually in emotional turmoil. Although David told him he absolutely must stay away from her at all costs, it seemed as though he'd got through to him... Until later in the episode.
David caught Jacob on a bus attempting to see Maya, and told him he'd call the police if he knew they were together. Although they finally went home, Jacob secretly called Maya's phone and left a message, pleading with her to contact him.
Thankfully, she didn't answer, and we were shown Maya deleting Jacob's number off her phone before putting it in her pocket - and showing that she was pregnant!
With Maya having slept with both Jacob and his dad David as they'd been in a relationship at the time, there's now set to be a paternity pregnancy plot... And fans cannot believe it.
Taking to Twitter, fans of the show expressed their shock over the turn of events. One wrote, 'OMG Maya's got Jacobs man bun in the oven !!! 👶🏻 ', and another added, 'OMG MAYA IS PREGNANT LIKE WHO DIDNT SEE THAT COMING', as one other wrote, 'omg!!! Maya up the duff 😱😱🤰🤰. Well that's going to complicate matters 😵. Wonder who the daddy is?!'
