Dancing On Ice confirms third judge for new series
The new series is set to start in 2018
Back in September ITV confirmed the news we were all hoping for, Dancing On Ice will return to our TV screens in January 2018.
After it was confirmed that Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean will sit on the judging panel this time round, the third judge for the upcoming new series has been revealed as Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo.
Ashley, who found fame on Britain's Got Talent in 2009, will join the panel alongside Torvill and Dean and other judges that are yet to be revealed.
Rylan Clark-Neal confirmed the news during his showbiz report on This Morning. Speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Rylan said, "I can reveal a judge on Dancing on Ice. It's Ashley Banjo."
Holly then added, "Ashley Banjo is going to be a great addition to the series.
"He's a brilliant dancer and a brilliant choreographer. He was discovered on Britain's Got Talent, and now he's going to be our judge."
Ashley founded dance group Diversity and led them to success after they beat Susan Boyle to the Britain's Got Talent crown in 2009. The group went on to have massive success across the world and performed at a number of sold-out shows.
As well as Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean, Holly and Phillip are also returning to the popular series when it returns in the new year.
Dancing On Ice bosses first confirmed the news that the show was returning back in September when they wrote, ‘Get your skates on, winter is coming. We'll be back in your lives for 2018! But who will take to the ice? Watch this space! #dancingonice’ on Twitter.
Torvill and Dean later appeared on This Morning where they announced some big changes to the show.
Not only will the skating legends be head judges on the show, a brand new purpose built set with a training rink and a performance rink has also been installed.
Dancing On Ice first hit TV screens back in 2006, with Holly and Phillip presenting the show together until 2011. Christine Lampard later took over from Holly between 2012-2014.
The last series then ended in March 2014, leaving viewers devastated.
Since Dancing On Ice started over ten years ago, the show has had many winners including the likes of Ray Quinn, Matthew Wolfenden, Suzanne Shaw and Beth Tweddle.
The new series is set to begin in January 2018.
