Leanne Battersby and Steve McDonald have been fighting a valiant fight to save Oliver Battersby's life after he was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease back in June.

But with a full recovery looking less and less likely and their legal fees already through the roof, this week will see the final verdict reached on whether or not the hospital will continue to fund his life support.

Hankies at the ready.

Billy is sure the archdeacon role is his

Elsewhere, Adam Barlow has been flirting shamelessly with Alina Popp but Sarah isn't having it and after catching him in the act three times eventually confronts him, to mortifying results.

Billy Mahew's new job as archdeacon is finally within reach but soon his chances are nearly scuppered by a sulking Paul Foreman and his drunken antics.

Sean Tully and Michael Bailey have an exciting business opportunity and Toyah Battersby feels sorry for Nick Tilsley.

CHECK OUT: Coronation Street Monday 9 - Friday 13 November

The week begins with Billy gleefully telling Nina that he's expecting a call from the bishop this week to confirm whether he's got the role of archdeacon.

But the week isn't going quite so well for Paul, who is furious to learn that Todd has landed a role at the factory and they'll be working together.

Despite Billy warning Paul not to let Todd get to him Paul can't help but feel riled and, sensing tension, Sarah suggests a team-building evening at Speed-Dahl.

But Paul and Billy's relationship isn't the only one under the spotlight this week as Adam has been switching on the charm for Alina.

As Adam flirts outrageously with Alina, a livid Sarah watches on but is secretly pleased when she sees Alina give Adam short thrift.

With Paul out at his work 'do, Billy gets a visit from the bishop who is thrilled to confirm the archdeacon role is his, but they're soon interrupted by Paul returning home.

It's quickly evident that Paul has had too much to drink and when he begins to disrobe and offers the bishop a beer, Billy can't get him out of there quick enough.

Following their team building evening Adam is sure he's in there with Alina and boldly asks her out for a drink when they bump into each other in the street.

But Alina has already been warned by Carla Connor to be careful with Adam as he's clearly just using her to get back at Sarah. What will she say?

It was a close call with the bishop but Billy is relieved to learn the job is still his, despite Paul's drunken antics, and passes the news onto Paul.

Once again, Billy implores Paul not to let Todd get to him and with a renewed sense of security Paul declares his over worrying about him.

Meanwhile, Sean and Michael return home from a sales seminar in Manchester and have some good news to share with Sarah.

In one session they'd managed to secure the selling rights to a brand new range of beauty products and they're both sure they'll be rich.

Sean manages to convince an unsuspecting George to let him try the new beauty products on him, and even George has to admit he's impressed.

Back at the factory, it's the third time that Sarah has caught Adam trying it on with Alina and, at the end of her tether, confronts him.

Adam remains infuriatingly unmoved as Sarah shrieks at him about using Alina to get to her and unleashes a tirade of abuse.

As Sarah lets loose at Adam, she doesn't spot Carla approaching with a potential client and is embarrassed to be caught losing her temper.

At the hospital, Nick arrives to see Oliver. Toyah reminds him Leanne has banned him from seeing him, but feels sorry for Nick and allows him to stay.

When Leanne turns up later on she's fuming to see Nick and Oliver together and demands he leave immediately, but soon regrets being so harsh.

The following day it's Oliver's hearing and Steve and Leanne listen on as Dr Howarth gives her view that it would be an act of kindness to turn off Oliver's life support.

A tearful Leanne then stands up and explains that all she wants as a mother is to not give up on her son and begs the judge to have compassion.

Back in court Leanne and Steve listen in silence as the judge delivers her verdict that Oliver's life support should be switched off.

By Oliver's bedside, Leanne matter-of-factly begins to talk about launching an appeal to overturn the judges decision but Steve isn't so sure.

Gently, Steve tries to explain that they've done all they can for Oliver and he thinks the judge is right and they should let him go. Leanne has never felt betrayal like it.

But first, here's what's coming up this week on Corrie...

Ever since Debbie Webster arrived back on the cobbles last October after a 34-year hiatus, we've been unsure whether everything is as it seems.

And this week her web of lies begins to unravel when Abi Franklin has her suspicions about her "high flying" career and calls her out in front of her brother Kevin Webster.

But Abi doesn't know what a can of worms she's about to open and soon the truth spills out.

Sarah lays into Adam

Elsewhere, Michael Bailey is stunned to learn that Grace is pregnant again and while James Bailey thinks she's lying, Grace is pretty convincing.

Meanwhile, Dev Alahan is furious when he thinks that Asha Alahan is sleeping with her school tormenter Corey, Emma Brooker confesses to donating Scott's money to Leanne Battersby and Leanne and Nick Tilsley uncover some concerning recordings on journalist Wendy's dictaphone.
