Coronation Street fans are convinced that newcomer Scott could be Carla Connor’s actual biological father after a series of clues seemingly pointed to his real identity. Viewers took to social media to share their thoughts on the matter, with one user pointing out he’d "taken a liking to Carla."

Scott arrived on the street a couple of months ago as the new long-term lodger at the Rover’s Return and so far his business in Weatherfield is unconfirmed. While he seems an amiable bloke, his arrival spooked pub landlord Johnny Connor, who took an impromptu trip to France with his wife Jenny as soon as Scott showed up.

Fans are now connecting the dots and think that Johnny could have been so keen to get away because Scott, who told Carla that he was surprised Johnny hadn’t mentioned him before, could be Carla’s real dad.

“Anybody else think this Scott character is Carla's dad and not Johnny? #Corrie,” tweeted one viewer, and another said, “I reckon Scott is Carla’s real dad. Johnny disappeared real sharpish and Scott seemed to take a liking to Carla!”

Many are also convinced that Scott was the one who beat up Carla's blackmailer Chelsey and Jordan, after he incongruously showed up in the scene and cast a knowing look.

“I saw that sneaky side eye from Scott, I can guarantee ya he knows Chelsey somehow #Corrie,” said one, and another wrote, “I might be overthinking it but… was that not weird that Scott showed up in that shot? #Corrie”.

CHECK OUT Coronation Street spoilers: Shona Ramsay makes a move on David Platt

Shona is getting settled in Roy's flat with the help of her new social worker, Aaron, when a spirited David swings by with some magazines.

But David is in for a shock when Aaron sombrely explains that it's important for Shona to have a routine and things won't go back to normal immediately.

Elsewhere, Seb plucks up the courage to tell Alina that he never stopped having feelings for her and goes in for the kill with flowers.

But the moment is ruined when Emma arrives at the flat and Seb struggles to explain the flowers. Later, Alina tells Seb she can only be mates to spare Emma's feelings.

Later on in the week Seb and Alina meet up for a "friendly" drink but it's clear they're struggling to fight their feelings. Back at home, Emma has an accident with the washing up, injuring her hand.

Tracy and Steve check in on Leanne and Oliver and Tracy convinces her that it would be a good idea to have a family day out to keep a semblance of normality.

Leanna and Nick agree to a day at the petting zoo and when Oliver sees a cow and giggles, Leanne is overjoyed to see a flicker of the old Oliver back.

Meanwhile, Carla thanks Abi and Scott for getting rid of Chelsey and Jordan while she decorates the Rover's Return for their VE day celebrations.

But when she spies a news article about an assault on the Brightwell estate she wonders if it was them and confronts Peter about where he was on that night.

After his night with Nicky, Daniel is conflicted and meets with her in a hotel to tell her it was a mistake and that he still loves Sinead.

Gemma meets with Shona and tells her all about how great her relationship with David was before the accident, so Shona invites him over for a pizza.

As they chat, David realises the gravity of the situation when she admits she doesn't remember him or their relationship, but things seem to be going well anyway.

But when Shona goes in for a kiss and declares that they should have sex, David is shocked and an embarrassed Shona kicks him out immediately.

Speaking about his character’s arrival on the street, actor Tom Roberts said, “He is a very charismatic guy, he’s got a bit of a swagger and he is very confident.

“It becomes obvious pretty much straight away, as soon as Johnny clocks him, that there is a past there. It takes quite a lot to frighten Johnny, he’s no pushover and he is quite a strong guy. So viewers will know from the outset that this outwardly charming, funny man with his witty lines and his confidence is not all that he seems.”
