After a long wait, the highly anticipated Catfish UK finally hit our TV screens back in 2021, and now the hit show has been renewed for a second series later this year.
As YouTuber Nella Rose has been announced as the brand new co-host alongside Oobah Butler, we've decided to gather together everything you need to know about the show…
What is Catfish UK?
Catfish UK is basically what it says on the tin, it's the UK version of popular MTV show Catfish: The TV Show.
Despite a UK version initially being talked about way back in 2016, fans of Catfish: The TV Show have had to enjoy the American series over the last decade, until last year when series one hit our screens.
The UK’s version of the popular TV show saw hosts Julie Adenuga and Oobah Bulter take the reins from American hosts Nev Shulman and Kamie Crawford, as they helped the public seek to reveal the truth about their online relationships.
Nella Rose has now been announced to replace Julia for series two.
When does Catfish UK start?
The first series of Catfish UK started on Wednesday 21st April 2021.
Although series two has now been confirmed, MTV are yet to reveal a start date.
Who is hosting Catfish UK?
Series one the UK’s version of the popular American reality TV show was hosted by Julie Adenuga and Oobah Bulter, but there's been a change for series two.
YouTuber Nella Rose will replace Julia for the second series, landing her first TV presenting gig.
Taking to social media to confirm the news in May, Nella wrote: 'ITS OFFICIAL! You are looking at the new host of #CATFISHUK 🥺🥺🥺🙏🏾🥳 To be a major part of one of my favourite shows just feels so surreal 🥺 I feel like a real TV presenter now 😭 Can’t wait for you guys to watch!!!'. (sic)
How does Catfish UK work?
The UK version of the show show will follow the same format as the US version, with Nella and Oobah meeting people across the UK who think they've met their soulmate online, only to later discover they are being 'catfished'.

Whilst we await the brand new episodes from series two to land on MTV, fans can re-watch Catfish UK series one on Amazon Prime, which includes 10 episodes.
