The 2023 series of Britain's Got Talent has now finished! The series had a new face in the judging panel, with former Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli replacing David Walliams.

Hosted by Geordie duo Ant and Dec, here's everything you need to know about the show which crowned Viggo Venn as the 2023 winner.

When did Britain's Got Talent 2023 start?

It was announced in early April that series 16 would kick off on Saturday 15th April at 8pm.

The news was announced on social media, with hosts Ant and Dec naming all of the previous winners in a video. The post read: 'Who will be next!? 🏆 #BGT returns Saturday 15th April at 8PM and Sunday 16th April at 7:45PM on @itv 1 and @wearestv1'.

When were the Britain's Got Talent 2023 live shows?

The 2023 live finals took place the week commencing Monday 29th May, with episodes every night Monday-Friday at 8pm.

When was the Britain's Got Talent 2023 final?

The 2023 final took place on Sunday 4th June at 7.30pm.

Who won Britain's Got Talent in 2023?

Viggo Venn, the Norwegian comedian won the 2023 series of Britain's Got Talent.

Singer Jai McDowall won the show in 2011.

Ashleigh and Pudsey

Dog performing act Ashleigh and Pudsey were winners of the 2012 series. However, Pudsey sadly passed away in July 2017.

Attraction

Another dance group won over the public in 2013, as Attraction used shadows and puppets to create beautiful spectacles - pictured here with actor Terry Crews.

Collabro

Singing group Collabro wowed viewers in 2014 with their performances of musical theatre songs.

Jules and Matisse

Britain's Got Talent saw its second dog act winner in 2015 with Jules and Matisse.

Richard Jones

Magician Richard Jones won the hearts of the nation in 2016.

Tokio Myers

Pianist and music producer Tokio Myers won the show in 2017, pictured here with BGT judge Amanda Holden.

Lost Voice Guy

Lost Voice Guy, real name Lee Ridley, won in 2018.

Colin Thackery

Colin Thackery won Britain's Got Talent 2019 with a heartwarming performance of 'Love Changes Everything'.

Jon Courtenay

Comedy singer Jon Courtenay was crowned the winner of the 2020 series! Jon was a favourite from his very first audition, picking up Ant and Dec's Golden Buzzer!

Axel Blake

Simon Cowell's Golden Buzzer act, comedian Axel Blake, was crowned the 2022 winner of Britain's Got Talent, beating the likes of ventriloquist Jamie Leahy and singer Tom Ball.

Viggo Venn

Norwegian comedian Viggo Venn won the 2023 series of Britain's Got Talent with his high vis jacket inspired routine. He said he was happy to have captured 'Simon's heart' as well as the nation's.

Sydnie Christmas

Sydnie Christmas won the 2024 series of Britain's Got Talent, the singer who dreams of performing on the West End told Ant and Dec: "I cannot believe the amount of love that I've felt since it aired. I am overwhelmed with love and it is the most amazing thing.
"And I wish for one day that every single person in this room feels the way I do one day with this love. It's amazing, thank you so much!"

Who were the BGT Golden Buzzer acts in 2023?

Bruno Tonioli Golden Buzzer act:

New judge Bruno chose to use his Golden Buzzer during the opening episode of the 2023 series! Not yet knowing the rules, Bruno pressed the buzzer MID-PERFORMANCE for dance troupe Ghetto Kids!

Simon Cowell's Golden Buzzer act:

Simon pressed his Golden Buzzer during the second episode of the series, after he was wowed by 13-year-old singer Malakai Bayoh, who performed an angelic rendition of 'Pie Jesu'.

Simon then broke the rules and used his Golden Buzzer once again during the episode on Saturday 20th May, for dance group Unity. Made up of a group of college friends aged between 16 and 25, Unity's inspiring piece was about celebrating what makes people unique.

Alesha Dixon Golden Buzzer act:

Alesha used her Golden Buzzer on 22nd April, during the third episode, when she saw Chickenshed perform. Chickenshed are a theatre group which welcomes anyone and is fully inclusive. After their performance on the show they received a standing ovation.

Amanda Holden Golden Buzzer act:

Amanda used her Golden Buzzer during the fourth episode on 29th April. Amanda chose to use her buzzer for 11-year-old Olivia Lynes, who blew the roof off with a performance of 'Defying Gravity' from the musical Wicked.

Ant and Dec's Golden Buzzer act:

Hosts Ant and Dec chose to use their Golden Buzzer on beatboxer MB14 during the episode on Saturday 7th May.

Who was the new judge for Britain's Got Talent 2023?

Former Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli was confirmed to replace David Walliams.

Speaking about the appointment, Bruno said: "Here we are, Britain’s Got Talent. I am so excited. It’s my first show, I have no idea what’s going to happen, but I’m sure it’s going to be brilliant."

Bruno joined previous judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon.

Who hosted Britain's Got Talent in 2023?

Ant and Dec once again returned to host the series.
