The long-awaited date for the second series of Bloodlands has just been announced.

James Nesbitt will be reprising his role as DCI Tom Brannick in the second series – after it was revealed at the end of the first season that the mysterious serial killer known as Goliath had actually been him all along.

The gripping first series aired in February 2021, and broke records overnight – it was watched by approximately 319,000 people in Northern Ireland alone.

Bloodlands season 2 will officially debut on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday 18th September 2022 at 9pm.

That means there's only a matter of days left to get caught up on what happened in the first series.

Bloodlands Series 1 recap:

The first series followed Belfast-based Detective Tom Brannick, played by Nesbitt, who attempts to uncover the identity of a serial killer known as Goliath, who re-emerged after two decades lying dormant.

Brannick discovers some chilling connections to his own turbulent past along the way.
