Previously unseen footage has emerged of Katy Perry on tour when she was just 16 years old – watch it now below!

Filmmaker Jim Standridge followed Katy on the road in 2001 when she was known by her real name Katy Hudson and touring her self-titled Christian rock album.

The promo footage features Katy performing live in Oregon, fiddling multiple times with her hair, calling herself a “pizza face” and getting emotional about her parents.

Uploading the 12-minute edit of the 90-minute film to Vimeo, Jim wrote: “Katy Perry's first tour as an artist in 2001. I was very fortunate to meet and hangout with this genuine talent in the beginning of her career. “The other day I was cleaning out some old footage in my office and found 90 minutes of raw footage I had totally forgot about. Funny how she spent so much time messing with her hair….

“In the present day her hair changes color and style in every photo shoot, music video and performance…. I think Katy has grown into an amazing entertainer and woman. Enjoy.”

After ditching her surname for Perry and reinventing herself musically, Katy hit the big time in 2008 with her second album ‘One of the Boys’, which spawned gargantuan hits like ‘I Kissed A Girl’ and ‘Hot n Cold’.

Although her debut album ‘Katy Hudson’ only sold an estimated 200 copies, Katy has gone on to sell over 15milliom albums across the globe.
