It's a classic festive song

Chris De Burgh's classic Christmas song 'A Spaceman Came Travelling' is always on the Christmas song list every year. Alongside Slade, Shakin' Stevens and Elton John, the 1976 track is a staple part of British culture when it comes to the festive season.

This year, Irish DJ John Gibbons has released a cover version of the hit, featuring vocals from upcoming talent Nina Nesbitt, who is best known for her single 'Stay Out' and for featuring on songs by Kodaline and Sigala.

Although the original is a classic, John's version of the song has updated it and brought it into the 21st century, with electronic beats that give it an EDM feel. The instrumentation pays homage to John's home country of Ireland, as it features folk music elements like flutes which can be subtly heard in the background.

The vocals of 24-year-old Nina, who is set to release her second album 'The Sun Will Come Up, the Seasons Will Change' in February 2019, are stunning.
