'Swings Both Ways' is proving popular this Christmas

Robbie Williams has reclaimed his chart crown from One Direction.

Certain to be a hugely popular gift this Christmas, ‘Swings Both Ways’ has climbed back to the summit following 1D’s two-week tenure with ‘Midnight Memories’.

The follow-up to Robbie’s 2001 swing album ‘Swing When You’re Winning’ has now sold over 400,000 copies since its release four weeks ago making it one of the biggest sellers of 2013.

Robbie’s sales margin ahead of One Direction was less than 5,000 copies in a closely fought chart race, according to Official Charts Company figures.

Gary Barlow’s ‘Since I Saw You Last’ holds firm at number three and Olly Murs’s ‘Right Place Right Time’ continues its impressive run at no.4.

Despite only being released 48 hours earlier, Beyoncé’s surprise self-titled fifth album entered at number five.
