A video has emerged of Rihanna getting a traditional Polynesian tattoo – by chisel and mallet!

The Bajan superstar dropped into an Auckland, New Zealand tattoo parlour at to get the Ta Moko ink after playing two shows in the city.

Carried out by tattoo artist Inia Taylor, the painful Ta Moko procedure is carried out using a chisel, mallet and ink pigments. Ouch.

Although Rihanna does wince and clench her teeth at some points, she barely flinches throughout the two-minute clip. Watch it right here:
