One Direction's Liam Payne: 'I Wanted To Whack Louis'

Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson have revealed that they were “at each other’s throats” in One Direction’s early days.

Although they’re both good mates today, the pair admit there was some serious friction when the band first formed on The X Factor in 2010.

Giving an insight into their turbulent relationship on the ‘This Is Us’ DVD extra, Liam said: “The funniest thing now is that me and Louis did not get on at all.

“We were two completely different characters. He was really loud and bubbly… I think there was one point where I literally wanted to whack him.”

Agreeing, Louis added: “We used to be at each other’s throats while we were on The X Factor. He took it so so seriously.

“Whenever I wanted to do something slightly mischievous he was always the Daddy. That’s what he got the name Daddy Direction.”

‘This Is Us’ is released on DVD and Blu-ray just in time for Christmas on 19th December.

Last week, One Direction’s third album became the fastest selling album of 2013 so far shifting a mightily impressive 237,000 copies in just seven days.
