Lady Gaga Reveals Mind-Blowing 'ARTPOP' Artwork

It features a sculpture of Gaga by world famous artist Jeff Koons

Lady Gaga has unveiled the eye-popping artwork to her upcoming third album ‘ARTPOP’.

It features a naked sculpture of Gaga, created by world famous artist Jeff Koons, sitting legs apart in front of a giant blue crystal ball.

Emblazoned with Gaga’s name in huge pink lettering, the background is spliced with images of Botticelli's 1486 masterpiece The Birth of Venus (the inspiration behind Gaga’s recent mermaid theme) and black and white images of other artworks.

Revealing the album sleeve last night, Gaga wrote: “FULL ARTPOP ALBUM COVER.'One second I'm a Koons, then suddenly the Koons is me!' #ApplauseJeffKoons”

The Jeff Koons sculpture will go on display at the ARTPOP release party on 10th November.

Before releasing the artwork, Gaga heaped praise on Jeff Koons, writing: "Please welcome Jeff Koons into our family + shower him with love for the the talents he has shared with us. A pure and genuine collaborator.

"I'm nervous and excited to share something that's such a piece of my heart. Something I cherish deeply. A real depiction of my mind through his.”

58-year-old Jeff Koons is best known for his giant 1992 sculpture ‘Puppy’ and his series of ‘Balloon Dogs’.

Lady Gaga’s ARTPOP is released on 11th November 2013.
