Grammy award-winning Kings Of Leon just dropped their eighth album ‘When You See Yourself’.

The Nashville rock quartet have been teasing new music since the end of last year, and Cool's John Kearns virtually caught up with band member's Caleb and Matthew to discuss their new sound.

Having worked on this exciting new project for so long, it's almost as though they were keeping a secret. "It was a secret I was happy to keep," shares lead singer Caleb. "We worked really hard on the record, we put in a lot of time from pre-production, actually recording and normally that's when the wheels would start going."

Matthew adds: “We’ve always supported our new albums with live shows and being around people, so it was kind of weird, no one knew what to do, so we held off for a while and then last summer we said we couldn’t wait any longer.”

Lockdown opened new doors for the band when writing and recording this new album, they spent some time ‘recharging.’

“We saw it first-hand, that we still have a lot of drive in us, and we still have a lot of inspiration that we can touch on. So normally we’d be on the road, but right now I’m excited about getting back into the studio,” Caleb explains.

We can look forward to a Kings of Leon gig sometime soon, as Caleb and Matthew both confirm how much they love performing and visiting Belfast.

Kings of Leon headlined Belfast's Tennant Vital in the summer of 2013 - playing hits like Sex on Fire and Use Somebody.

“We’ve been away for so long, even four years before the pandemic hit, so we’re ready to be everywhere, so we’re going to be in Belfast,” confirms Matthew.
