Kanye West's Baby & Miley Cyrus's Twerking Are 2013's Top Searches

Ask.com has revealed its most searched celebs

Question answering search engine Ask.com has revealed that Kanye West and his fiancée Kim Kardashian’s baby is the most popular search of 2013.

Ask.com has this week published the top ten searches in three categories – New, Politics and Entertainment – over the past 12 months.

!“Why is Kim and Kanye’s baby named North West?” was the most asked entertainment question on the site this year ahead of “What did Miley Cyrus do at the VMAs?” in reference to her infamous twerking performance with Robin Thicke.

Other entertainment questions included “How did Cory Monteith die?” and “When is the Breaking Bad finale?”

Future king Prince George is top of the news with the question “What is the Royal Baby’s name?”, while the US Government Shutdown (“Why did the government shut down?”) is the most popular political.

"People turn to Ask for answers on everything from noteworthy celebrities to breaking news to political pundits," said Valerie Combs, vice president of communications for Ask.com.

“Given we get a significant volume of queries in the form of a natural language question, we can take a unique look at the storylines and trends that captured attention this year."

Ask.com is the 36th most visited site on the planet, attracting over 100million unique visitors a month.
