Jax Jones is known for some fantastic collabs, in the last year alone he's worked with Calum Scott on 'Whistle', D.O.D. on 'Need You Now', and with D.O.D. and Ina Wroldsen on 'Won't Forget You'.

Now, the DJ has released his 'best collaboration', with Zoe Wees and Pokemon, and he's revealed how the collaboration came about and who directed the music video.

Is there a music video for the song?

Jax has now released the space age music video, which was directed by KC Locke, who has worked with the likes of Aitch, David Guetta and Little Mix.

In the video, which Jax describes as his most ambitious yet, a sleeping Pikachu is beamed up into space where Jax and Zoe are performing in a stadium to their fans.

How did the collaboration come about?

In a Reel, Jax also explained how his collaboration with Zoe Wees came about. He told his fans that he'd come up with a beat for the song, but he needed someone to sing on it.

Jax was walking through a hotel in Singapore when he heard a song on the speakers, which just happened to be Zoe Wees. Zoe is a German singer, so Jax sent her a message, before travelling to Germany to record the song with her. It only took a day and she recorded the whole song sitting on the floor! 😮

How did Jax Jones announce his song?

A few days before the song's release, Jax told his fans in a video: "I think I just confirmed my most exciting collaboration.

"I've got this track, which is a little bit 90s and a little bit donk... Then Zoe Wees recorded some fire vocals, but there's another collaborator on this record. It's the most exciting yet and it's a bold statement cos when it comes to collaborations I like to think I've worked with the very best, Demi Lovato, RAYE, Calum Scott, Fireboy."

He added: "You've gotta catch 'em all, right? That's right, I've teamed up with Pokeman, they heard the song and they wanted to get involved, and I'm such a big fan. I've been playing Pokemon ever since Pokemon Red. The song's called 'Never Be Lonely' and we have a massive surprise for it, coming this Friday. Can you guess what it is?"

After posting the clip, fans left messages with one writing: 'Collaboration with Pokemon? No wayyyyyy man ♥️', (sic) and another saying: '🙌I love it already and I guarantee it will be a hit @jaxjones 🔥🔥🔥🙌'. (sic)

Jax then posted a still from the music video of him DJing, fist-bumping Pikachu, writing: 'Is this about to be my best collaboration yet…? 👀 Find out Friday 7AM 🤫'.

As Pokemon fans will know, this isn't the first time the brand has teamed up with a songwriter, having worked with Ed Sheeran a couple of years ago. In 2022, Ed released 'Celestial', along with the music video which was been inspired by Ed’s childhood fascination with the Pokémon franchise and featured some of his favourites such as Pikachu, Squirtle, Machamp, Snorlax and more.
