Pop star George Ezra has revealed the very unusual reason that he thinks his song 'Shotgun' became a hit earlier this year. 'Shotgun' became George Ezra's first Number 1 in the UK and his fourth top 10 single since 2013.

Now, in a recent interview with the Daily Star, George has said that the song's success could be due to him 'burping'! Yes, you heard that right, the singer said, "I got this email saying, 'Look there’s this meme going around saying that you burped.' But it’s just me saying the word 'well'."

The 25-year-old went on to explain, "Within about a week it got back to Number 1 as everyone was checking out to see if I burp." We couldn't make this up!

Back in the summer, as fans were frantically talking about the 'burp' on social media, one fan said, 'Someone told me George Ezra burps at 59 seconds into shotgun and now I can't unhear it', sic another fan commented, 'the fact that george ezra BURPS AT 59 SECONDS ON SHOTGUN MAKES ME CRY'. sic
