Ed Sheeran: 'My Second Album Features My Best Songs'

He builds excitement ahead of its release later this year

Ed Sheeran has built excitement ahead of the release of his second album saying it contains his “best songs” yet.

The flame-haired troubadour admits his multi-million selling debut ‘+’ was a bit rushed and he’s more confident about his new effort.

“It’s the work I’m most proud of,” Ed told the Evening Standard. “I’ve cherry picked the best songs and worked with the best producers.

“My first album was a bit rushed because I’d just been signed and wanted to put something out before I was shelved.”

Ed has been recording his second album in Los Angeles with super-producer Rick Rubin for the past year and last December aired the track ‘Tenerife Sea’ at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

The album is set for release later this year to support Ed’s October 2014 UK & Ireland arena tour, which takes in the following shows:
