Ed Sheeran is one of the biggest pop stars on the planet and in less than 24 hours he’ll be performing in Belfast on his Mathematics Tour.

With over 80,000 fans expected to fill Boucher Road Playing Fields over two nights, with a multi-million-pound production, this is one gig you don’t want to miss.

After bursting onto the scene in 2011 with his incredible single 'The A Team', Ed has grown into one of the biggest names in music around the world.

But where did it all begin?

Ed Sheeran’s very first performance in Northern Ireland was at ‘One Cool Weekend’ hosted by Cool FM in Newcastle Co. Down back in 2011.

At the time, Ed was a new face on the scene, supporting other artists on the bill like Chipmunk, Wretch 32 and General Fiasco.

After this weekend’s double header in Belfast, Ed will have performed to an incredible 400,000 Irish fans, having already visited Dublin, Cork and Limerick.

Everything from the staging to the pyrotechnics involved in this mammoth two-year world tour, is out of this world.

This will be only ‘open-field’ destination on Ed’s European tour, the other venues are all in stadiums, so Thursday and Friday night’s shows are going to pretty special.

Harry Ford, the Site Co-Ordinator for Ed’s Mathematics tour commented: “This is a truly unique show, it’s 360 degrees in the round, the audience are surrounding the stage, at times underneath the structure itself. It’s a really exciting show to be a part of, and the audience are going to be fully immersed into it.

“There’s plenty of tricks to look forward to, I can’t give too much away, but it’s going to be a fantastic experience for all coming along.”

Thursday night’s gig is sold out, however there are limited tickets still available via ticketmaster.ie

Don’t forget!

If you are coming along, the show on both nights is a fully digital ‘e-ticketed’ event, so make sure your phones are fully charged before you arrive.
