Ed Sheeran Announces Second Album ‘x’
The follow-up to the 1.8milllion selling '+'
Ed Sheeran has announced that his second record is called ‘x’ (pronounced ‘multiply’).
The follow-up to Ed’s phenomenally successful debut ‘+’, which has sold more than 1.8million copies in the UK alone, will be released across the globe this summer.
Ed told his 9million Twitter followers: “My 2nd album is called 'x' or 'multiply' and will released on the 23rd of June worldwide. Can't wait for you guys to hear it.” ****
The first single to be lifted from the album, snappily titled ‘Sing’, is premiered later tonight (7th April).
Ed recorded ‘x’ in Los Angeles with producer legend Rick Rubin. Pharrell Williams also joined musical forces with the singer and Foy Vance has co-written several tracks.
Last year Ed revealed that he’d penned 120 tracks for the album and with the help of his touring buddy Taylor Swift was able to whittle them down.
"She's heard all the songs and she's a good judge of what's good or not good," he told MTV News.
