Recently announced 2019 BRIT Award nominee, Dua Lipa, has just revealed her priority of 2019 and fans should be super happy. In a recent interview, the 'New Rules' pop star said that releasing her second album was her priority this year.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Dua Lipa revealed, "Working really hard to get my new album out. Those are the only rules that I’m gonna be living by. I’m just going to be in the studio making sure that I come back with some fun stuff for everyone."
The pop star then went on to say, when talking about her music, "I’ve learned that just by being honest and speaking my truth, I guess it hits home with some people – just like it does with me."
During the interview, when she was questioned more about her upcoming music, Dua revealed that it was going to be "a pop album", although she also explained how growing up in Kosovo, everyone listened to hip hop, so it would be diverse.
“My album – I guess it’s a pop album, but it’s so diverse, because it comes from so many different and inspirations," Dua explained, "So hip-hop has played a big role in that. I just want to be able to play with different sounds and different feelings at the same time."
Dua Lipa has had a fantastic few years, after releasing her debut single 'Be the One', it was in 2017 with her female anthem, 'New Rules', that she really became popular, being nominated for five BRIT Awards in 2018 - winning two awards. This year, Dua has been nominated for four BRIT Awards, two in each of these categories - British Single of the Year and British Video of the Year, for 'One Kiss' with Calvin Harris and 'IDGAF'.

This year's BRIT Awards will take place on Wednesday 20th February at London's O2 Arena, where it has been held since 2011. The annual event will be hosted by Jack Whitehall for the second time in a row and as yet, three performers have been announced - George Ezra, Little Mix and 2018 Critics' Choice winner Jorja Smith.
We recently caught up with Mabel - who was nominated for the Critics' Choice award in 2018 - and she told us what it was like to grow up with famous parents. Mabel, who's parents are 80s pop icon Neneh Cherry and Massive Attack producer Cameron McVey, has a BRIT nomination for British Breakthrough Act this year.
Good luck to all of this year's nominees!
