Emeli Sandé wins big at the 33rd BRITs ceremony!

Emeli Sandé and Ben Howard were the big winners at The BRIT Awards at London’s O2 Arena last night.

One of the biggest success stories of the past 18 months, Emeli Sandé took home the coveted British Album of the Year title for ‘Our Version of Events’ and the British Female Solo Artist.

Acoustic troubadour Ben Howard also stormed to victory in two categories – British Breakthrough Act and British Male Solo Artist.

Folk-rockers Mumford & Sons claimed the British Group award ahead of One Direction, however, the boyband took home the brand new Global Success Award at the end of the night.

Other winners on the night included Lana Del Rey, Coldplay, Adele, The Black Keys and Frank Ocean.

In a first for the BRITs, Damon Albarn took to the stage to collect the Special Recognition Award on behalf of War Child as 2013 marks the charity’s 20th anniversary.

Performances on the night came from Muse (Supremacy), Robbie Williams (Candy), Justin Timberlake (Mirrors), One Direction (One Way Or Another), Taylor Swift (I Knew You Were Trouble), Ben Howard (Only Love), Mumford & Sons (I Will Wait) and Emeli Sandé (Clown/Next To Me).
