Becky Hill opens up about her confidence as she drops her second album 'Believe Me Now?'
She wanted to 'change up' the artwork
Last updated 31st May 2024
Over the last 12 months, Becky Hill has been releasing songs such as 'Side Effects', 'Never Be Alone', 'Outside of Love' and her latest tune with Self Esteem 'True Colours'. She's also been working hard on her second album, which is now out, released on 31st May.
The singer, who has had hits such as 'Crazy What Love Can Do' with David Guetta and Ella Henderson, 'History' with Joel Corry and 'Run' with Galantis, released her first album 'Only Honest On The Weekend' after nine years in the music business, back in 2021. Thankfully we haven't had to wait another nine years!
The day before the album's release, the singer shared a video, where she opened up about her confidence and why she wanted to 'change up' the artwork, using a photo of herself, rather than something illustrative.
The 'Wish You Well' singer explained: "I've made a conscious decision this year to change the artwork. I've been doing a lot of illustrative stuff, and I guess that comes again with the confidence thing.
"Like I wasn't really that confident to have my picture on the front of something, to be front and centre on stuff, and this was the first year that I was like 'you know what? Let's change it up', and it was actually Sam Neill (photographer/creative director). God I love this Renaissance stuff, and we just ran with it. I feel like it really worked out, big time."
Becky went on to describe how they did the photo shoot for the album cover, and how this is the artist she was 'always meant to be'.
How did Becky Hill announce the release date?
Taking to social media earlier this year, Becky revealed the name and release date writing: 'BELIEVE ME NOW?
'my second album COMING OUT MAY 31st!!! it’s been a true joy making this body of work, going back to my dance music roots, telling my stories & finally feeling the confidence i never knew i had. i’m very proud of it & im so thankful i got to make it 🤍'. (sic)

"I’ll definitely be upping the budget on album two and making sure there’s lots of live instruments on there, I think it could really be a breath of fresh air for dance pop music."
In an interview with Sam Thompson for Hits UK, Becky also opened up about her upcoming album saying: "It's back to my roots really. There's lots of proper club records on there which I'm really excited about. I've been back in writing more drum and bass as well. I actually think I've written one of the best drum and bass records since I've written 'Afterglow', which I'm really excited about.
"I wrote it with Chase & Status as well, so that's really exciting! There should be new music out quite a lot this year! I just want to see how this next year goes, you know, I've got to go out to America and try and break America, and I've got to really plant my feet."
