Ariana Grande has surprised fans by dropping a new song, which references some of her ex-boyfriends, Mac Miller, Pete Davidson and Big Sean. The song, 'Thank U, Next', dropped on Saturday night (3rd November), just 30 minutes before the new episode of Saturday Night Live, the show that stars her ex-fiancé Pete Davidson.

In what has been a turbulent year for the singer, with her public split from Mac Miller back in April, and her whirlwind romance with Pete Davidson, with a quick engagement, before a split four months later; it's no surprise that some of her songs have taken influence from her life.

Announcing the song's release on her socials, Ariana Grande said, 'thank u....... next 🖤' sic, posting the artwork for the song, which features quotes from a number of different publications.

Shortly after posting the details, fans have been quick to comment saying how much they love her new release saying, 'I love this so much, it’s packed with positivity and that’s something so many of us need! I hope you’re doing well and I’m so excited for this era 💋' and 'THIS IS YOUR BEST SONG'.

The song's lyrics are, 'Thought I’d end up with Sean

But he wasn’t a match

Wrote some songs about Ricky

Now I listen and laugh

Even almost got married

And for Pete I’m so thankful

Wish I could say thank you to Malcolm Miller

Cause he was an angel'

Ariana's new song comes just days after she hit back at Pete, when he was seen in a Saturday Night Live trailer joking about their relationship. In the SNL trailer, Pete can be seen turning to guest singer Maggie Rogers and saying to her, "Hey Maggie, I’m Pete. You wanna get married?”

Maggie declines his offer, so Pete then responds, "0-3"! Awks!

The joke didn't go down well with Ariana, who took to Twitter to apparently vent her frustrations, in a now-deleted tweet, saying, 'for someone who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh'. sic

Now take a look at Ariana's transformation from teenage TV star to worldwide pop sensation:

Meanwhile, away from her relationship troubles, Ariana has still found the time to wow her fans with some amazing performances, including a celebration of the musical Wicked. Taking part in an NBC special, called A Very Wicked Halloween, Ariana appeared on stage wearing a green dress, with green lipstick to match and stunned the audience with her performance of 'The Wizard and I'.

One fan commented, 'Just PERFECT', with another saying, 'I CRIED OVER ARIANA ON NATIONAL TELEVISION'. One more fan just tweeted, 'LOVE HER SHE ALWAYS DOES AMAZING 💚✨'.
