CHSq 2024: A closer look at this years artists
CHSq is back for another unforgettable year!
Having started back in summer 2017, CHSq has hosted some of the worlds best artists ranging from pop hit maker George Ezra, Queen of Pop Becky Hill, Madness and Carl Cox.
CHSq is again returning to the city of Belfast’s iconic Custom House for 2024 and is set to kick off on Saturday 3rd August with Australian DJ Sonny Fodera and wrap up on August 28th with classic rock band Pixies.
Sonny Fodera on Saturday 3rd August
The Australian born DJ and music producer will be kicking off the 2024 CHSQ festivities on Saturday 3rd August with featured guests LF System, Dave Treacy, Jen Payne.
Known for his vocal-driven house music style, Fodera has collaborated with artists such as Calvin Harris, MK, Diplo and Becky Hill.
Enjoy a summer night of dance hits such as ‘Life Lesson’, ‘Never Be Alone’ and ‘One Night’ at CHSq this August!

Madness on Friday 9th August
The boys are back to shake up the City of Belfast!
Back with their ‘C’est La Vie’ summer tour, the British band are performing at CHSq 2024 on Friday 9th August with opening act The Lightning Seeds.
With a career spanning over four decades with a multitude of hits, ‘House of Fun’, ‘It Must Be Love’, ‘Night Boat to Cairo’ and ‘Our House’ get ready to dance the night away!

Billy Gillies on Saturday 10th August
Billy Gillies is Northern Ireland’s latest superstar trance DJ!
Having made his name in Belfast, this hometown superstar DJ has made some of the biggest dance hits from ‘DNA (Loving You)’ with Hannah Boleyn, ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’ and ‘Fair’.
Gillies will be taking to the CHSq stage to perform on Saturday 10th August alongside Mauro Picotto, N-Trance/Tyler Jack, K.A.D

Two Door Cinema Club on Thursday 15th August
The Bangor boys are back to rock the stage at CHSq 2024!
Mixing guitar-driven hooks with an electronic dance polish, the bands hits are endless from ‘What You Know’, ‘Something Good Can Work’, ‘Undercover Martyn’ and ‘Satellite’ to mention a few.
Having last performed at Belfast’s iconic Telegraph Building last year, after the release of their fifth studio album ‘Keep on Smiling’, the band are back to leave another incredible mark on Belfast along with fellow artists Lucy Gaffney, Disgusting Sisters opening for the band!

Stiff Little Fingers on Saturday 17th August
The Belfast born punk band was formed in 1977 along with the likes of the Clash, Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks and Undertones.
The band were at the forefront of the punk movement, writing songs about their own lives while growing up in the heights of The Troubles in Northern Ireland in songs ‘Suspect Device’ and ‘Wasted Life’. In 1979 they became the first band to ever hit the UK top 20 album charts on an independent label with their debut ‘Inflammable Material’.
2024 marks the 45th anniversary of their debut album, which is arguable considered one of the greatest punk albums of all time.
The band will have The Damned, The Skids, Problem Patterns, DJ Terri Hooely as opening support for their performance on Saturday 17th August.

The Waterboys on Sunday 18th August
Best-known for their songs 'The Whole Of The Moon', 'How Long Will I Love You', 'This Is The Sea' and 'Fisherman's Blues'. The folk-rock band have been led by Scottish singer, songwriter and guitarist Mike Scott through 4 decades of music.
Enjoy a night of the band’s classics and latest hits with special guests still to be announced!

Tom Grennan on Monday 19th August
Undoubtedly one of the UK’s hottest acts in recent years, Tom Grennan is taking to the CHSq on Monday 19th August along with Victor Ray and Only The Poets.
Grennan’s latest album ‘What Ifs & Maybes’ headed straight in at No.1 in the UK album chart, becoming his second consecutive No.1 following his breakout record ‘Everything Road’ in 2021, massing over 11.3 billion streams and 9 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

PJ Harvey on Thursday 22nd August
The English singer-songwriter is taking to Belfast this summer performing at CHSq on Thursday 22nd August with opening act MICA LEVI.
‘I Inside the Old Year Dying’ is PJ Harvey’s tenth album, and her first in seven years. Her alternative punk rock music style is set to rock the stage this summer.

The Saw Doctors on Saturday 24th August
Powered by Davy Carton and Leo Moran with a band lineup, The Saw Doctors are back for another incredible show.
Having been first discovered by Mike Scott of The Waterboys in Galway City in the 80s. The bands second single ‘I Uesta Lover’ was a surprise No.1 hit in Ireland across the 90s, going on to be the biggest-selling Irish single ever.
The band will perform on Saturday 24th August with Derry rock band The Undertones opening for the band.

The 30+ Club on Sunday 25th August
Enjoy a night of 80’s-00’s musical nostalgia on Sunday 25th August with the 30+ club coming to CHSq for the first time!

James Arthur on Thursday 27th August
Having first made waves back in 2012 having won the ninth series of X Factor with his debut single, a cover of Shontelle’s ‘Impossible’.
Following his recent return with new tracks ‘Blindside’ and ‘A Year Ago’, James Arthur has announced his fifth studio album ‘Bitter Sweet Love’ released in January.
Arthur has scored 4 top 10 albums and selling out worldwide arenas, enjoy a night of hits from The Greatest Showman’s ‘Rewrite The Stars’ to ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’.
Irish singer-songwriter Neve will be the opening for Arthur at his show on Thursday 27th August.

Pixies on Wednesday 28th August
Pixies have been recognised as the most influential band of the late 80s alt/rock movement, having majorly influenced artists like Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Radiohead.
The bands quirky and catchy melodies have always been the Pixies staple, with seven genre-defining studio albums, including the Gold-certified 'Surfer Rosa', and the iconic Platinum 'Doolittle', considered one of the all-time, quintessential alt/rock albums.
The band will be performing at CHSq 2024 on Wednesday 28th August with Sprints as the opening act.
