Filming is underway in Ireland on Netflix’s psychological thriller The Wonder, starring Florence Pugh.

This new feature film was originally a 2016 novel by Emma Donoghue, who also wrote the Oscar-winning adapted screenplay 'Room.'

Pugh was Oscar-nominated herself, for her role in Little Women alongside Irish actress Saoirse Ronan.

Set in 1859, The Wonder follows the story of an English nurse, played by Florence. A young girl in the Irish Midlands stops eating but remains miraculously alive and well. Tourists flock to witness the girl - is this be a miracle or couId there be something more mysterious going on inside the village?

Posting to her 4.6M Instagram followers, Pugh thanked the people of Ireland for their generosity, saying: “I can’t tell you how gorgeous everyone is, every single person I interact with is lovely and so helpful.

“Everyone is so kind and ready to just have a good time with you. So, thank you Ireland for being so generous and welcoming,” she said.

Pugh isn't alone...she brought her furry best friend Billy with her. She has shared snaps of her four-legged friend exploring the Irish hills on set, and dozing on the sofa. It's a dog's life, eh!

The Wonder is expected to be released on Netflix in 2022.
