Strangest complaints for Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway revealed
Viewers have been complaining about the weekend show.
Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway is arguably one of the most popular TV shows at the moment but the viewers' complaints to Ofcom have been released and some are extremely odd.
According to a national newspaper there have been three complaints about discrimination as only women have been asked to take part in the ‘Win the Ads’ feature – though a man took part at the weekend.
A viewer was unhappy when Dec threatened to ‘smash’ Ant’s face in and there were two complaints that the programme showed people driving carelessly while holding a mobile phone.
On top of that, there was an objection that children had been encouraged to work out how much money they could make from taking selfies.
Another, which is apparently under assessment, was about the hosts encouraging chef Gino D’Acampo to say ‘sheet’ frequently in his Italian accent.
The biggest one was the sketch involving a so-called ‘scammer’ where a woman won a cruise after admitting she lied to her boss to go on holiday.
Angela Murdoch said she’d pretended to have an injury to spend time in Italy, on a feature called ‘Coronation Deceit’, which resulted in a backlash on social media.
People took to Twitter to call her a 'fraud' for the sketch, which apparently received 54 complaints.
However the hotel owner hit back and insisted it was ‘over 20 years ago’.
It's the 13th series of the show, which was first aired in June 2002 and ran until 2009.
It was then annouced in 2011 that the programme would return to the screen in 2013.
