Robin Thicke Separates With Wife Paula Patton
They insist they will "always love each other" in a statement
Robin Thicke has separated with his wife Paula Patton after nine years of marriage.
The ‘Blurred Lines’ singer met Patton at an under-21 club on Sunset Strip, Los Angeles in 1991 when they were both in their mid-teens.
They were married in 2005 and have a son together, Julian Fuego Thicke, who was born in April 2010.
In a joint statement to People magazine, the couple said: "We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.”
Despite media rumours linking him to other women, Thicke has always been highly protective about his marriage saying last November: "We're pretty sure we've loved each other for a few lives."
The couple both attended The Grammy Awards at The Staples Center in Los Angeles where triple-nominated Thicke performed live with rock veterans Chicago.
As an actress Paula Patton has appeared a string of popular movies including Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Precious, Idlewild, Mirrors and Déjà vu.
The 38-year-old also appeared in Thicke’s music videos for ‘Lost Without U’ (2007) and ‘Love After War’ (2011).
