Earlier this summer, filming began in Ireland for the live-action musical sequel Disenchanted starring Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey.****

The quirky town of village in Co. Wicklow was given a fairytale/medieval transformation back in May. No expense was spared on the set, with people travelling far and wide to take in the magical scenes, which will now sadly be disassembled.

Garda Info confirmed the news on twitter, that filming has now wrapped. They posted a picture of the town mid-deconstruction and wrote, 'Last scene shot yesterday in Enniskerry...'

If you didn't get a chance to visit the 'enchanting' location, you might just bump into one of the movie's biggest stars as he explores Ireland a little deeper.

Hollywood heartthrob Patrick Dempsey stars alongside musical legend Idina Menzel, Maya Rudoplh, James Marsden and of course Amy Adams.

When he wasn't busy on set, Dempsey spent downtime roaming some of Ireland's stunning landscapes and meeting a few local faces along the way.

When he first touched down this side of the Atlantic, he quarantined in a secret north coast hideaway. Olivia Burns, founder of Coleraine-based home fragrance brand Olivia's Haven, revealed that the star has been staying with her for two weeks. Imagine keeping that a secret 🤯

We've been following Patrick's journey across the country as he documents his travels on Instagram.

Follow McDreamy's footsteps:

Mussenden Temple

Sharing three black and white photos, Dempsey displayed this magnificent NI landmark in all its glory. It's safe to say, the day after he posted this snap there was barely a space in the car park here 🤣

Victoria Hill

Sitting on top of Victoria Hill Co. Dublin sits a lonely obelisk, this was first completed in 1742 and commemorates the victims of the Irish Famine of 1740-41. On a good day, you can see for miles, including Killiney, Dalkey, and even the mountains of Wales. By the looks of this snap, Patrick couldn't see much!

Powerscourt Waterfall

Now this gorgeous natural spot is believed to be a location from the Disney sequel, thanks for the teaser McDreamy! This is actually Ireland's highest waterfall and a bucket list for many visiting the area.

Dalkey Island

Dalkey is of Ireland's most picturesque gems, especially at sunrise and sunset, just look at this pic. The island was abandoned following the Viking Invasions, all that's left are church ruins and archaeological curiosities.

Sugarloaf Mountain

Clearly Ireland's dramatic landscape has been teasing Patrick during his stay. He reached the top of Sugarloaf, standing 1,644ft (501m) tall, with views overlooking the Bray to Greystones coastline.

Ashford Castle

5-star luxury and Irish hospitality, you can't beat it! There's so much to see and do on the Ashford Castle estate, including falconry, fishing, clay pigeon shooting and golf.

Cliffs of Moher

Perhaps this was a recommendation from co-star Amy Adams who filmed the rom-com hit Leap Year close to the cliffs. It looks like Patrick had an alternative view...from a helicopter for this pic.

Merrion Square Park

Merrion Square has inspired locals and tourists for centuries, W.B. Yeats and Oscar Wilde are known to have spent part of their lives here. Dempsey shared a quote "The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention."

Leo Burdock’s

One of Dublin's best takeaway restaurants, there's no doubt Patrick will still be 'McDreaming' of his chips here 🥰
