Love Island's Mary Bedford reveals her gran sadly died when she was in the villa
Mary has shared a lovely tribute to her beloved grandma
Love Island 2021 star Mary Bedford has paid a touching tribute to her beloved grandma after she sadly passed away whilst her granddaughter was taking part in the ITV2 show.
Mary, who narrowly missed out on a place in the final alongside Aaron Simpson, shared a lovely photo of herself alongside her grandma, telling fans: 'Our angel on earth is now our angel in heaven🕊🤍.
'Coming off the show has been bitter sweet for me as I flew home to go to the funeral of my beautiful grandma who passed away whilst I was in the villa. I’ve been taking the time since the show to mourn, reflect, and be back with my loved ones before returning to my social media.
'I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the support I have received at this difficult time, I truly appreciate everything🤍'. (sic)
Mary's friends and Love Island co-stars were quick to send their condolences.
Despite admitting they are just friends on Love Island: Aftersun last week, Aaron wrote: '❤️❤️❤️', with Faye Winter adding: '🤍 love you'. Teddy Soares then commented: 'Sending love ❤️'.
Chloe Burrows added: '❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️', with Casa Amor boy Matthew McNabb adding: 'I’m sorry to hear ❤️'. (sic)
Molly-Mae Hague, who today announced she is the brand new creative director at clothing brand Pretty Little Thing, also wrote: 'Fly High beautiful lady🤍🕊 she’ll be so proud of you Mary.' (sic)

Mary, who entered this year's series during the infamous Casa Amor week, seemingly found a connection with semi-pro footballer Aaron Simpson in the main villa, after he entered as a bombshell.
However, after leaving together just days before the final, it sounds like Mary swiftly put Aaron in the friendzone during their chat with Laura Whitmore on Aftersun.
When asked what the future held for their relationship, Mary said: “I think we’re just gonna go home, when we’re back in the real world again and things are more normal. We’re going to see how it goes, but I’ve definitely made a best friend in here.”
The feeling didn’t seem to be mutual however, with Aaron seemingly keen to pursue something with Mary who said: “I knew my head was firmly on Mary and it was a whirlwind experience.”
