Little Mix DIDN'T get a BRITs Best Group nomination and fans AREN'T happy
Oh no!
Last updated 20th Feb 2018
Over the weekend we saw the likes of Dua Lipa get a massive five nominations for The BRITs and Ed Sheeran follow closely behind with four. However, the Little Mix girls only got ONE nomination, for British Single, with a possible further nomination in the British Video Artist of the Year category, with their single 'Touch' shortlisted for a public vote.
Many fans were extremely surprised and upset that Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards failed to get a highly sought nomination for British Group, taking to Twitter to vent their frustration.
One fan account said, 'Not only should Little Mix be nominated for ‘Best British Group’ they should actually win it, considering they dominated both 2016 & 2017 with multiple platinum hits and albums.'
Continuing, 'Never mind three singles crossing the 1M sold mark. Maybe think about that☺️☺️'.
Another user said, 'You mean to tell me Little Mix have the top highest grossing girl group tour of 2017 and biggest selling female/group album in the uk in 2017 and were still not nominated for best British group at the Brits?' sic.
Others also took to Twitter to have their say...
Last year Little Mix won their first BRIT Award, after first being nominated back in 2016 for their single 'Black Magic'. Although they were nominated for British Group last year they didn't win that category, instead taking home the 'British Single' award for their single 'Shout Out To My Ex'.
This year along with British Single, the girls also have the music video for their single 'Touch' shortlisted for the British Video Artist of the Year category. This time around 10 songs have been chosen by YouTube/Vevo, and a final five nominations will be chosen by a public vote which is taking place at the moment.
