Liam Payne and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini shocked the world last week after seemingly confirming their romance over social media, but now Liam’s ex-girlfriend Sophia Smith has spoken about the ‘weird’ situation.
Sophia has broken her silence for the first time since her two-year romance with the ‘History’ singer came to an end in October last year, and she hasn’t held back her thoughts on her ex’s new romance.

Speaking to Now Magazine, Sophia admitted she was shocked by Liam’s new romance before stating “It’s so weird.”
Meanwhile Liam and Cheryl seem to be completely loved up at the moment, posting cosy pictures of themselves on their respective social media accounts.
Despite some fans thinking the romance is all for show, the fashion business student went on to confirm it is more than just a ‘showmance’ by claiming “I knew about them a little while ago, but who thought it would actually come out? I didn’t.”
Since splitting in October, Sophia has been spending time with Louis Tomlinson’s ex Eleanor Calder, whom she is good friends with. The pair seemed to knock their former flames in a recent snapchat video where they were seen singing and dancing to Zayn Malik’s track ‘Pillowtalk’.
Despite One Direction fans going crazy over the apparent ‘snub’, Sophia put any rumours to bed claiming “We just love the song. It’s a good song.”
