Leonardo DiCaprio reveals he's had THREE near death experiences
Actor cheats death three times
Renowned actor and daredevil Leonardo DiCaprio has revealed to a magazine that he has cheated death not once, not twice, but THREE times!
Surviving a shark attack, skydiving accident and an engine explosion on a plane, Leonardo DiCaprio has been through it all.
Talking about the very chilling shark attack he explained he'd been diving in South Africa when a shark 'jumped' into his cage and started snapping at the actor.
He added that he fell to the bottom of the cage and tried to lie flat.
His second near death experience was on a plane to Russia as he looked out the window as the entire wing “exploded in a fireball.”
Speaking about the 'surreal' experience, he said: "They shut all the engines off for a couple of minutes, so you’re just sitting there gliding with absolutely no sound, and nobody in the plane was saying anything."
Fortunately for the star, the plane's engines were started up and they made an emergency landing at JFK airport.
The actor’s third and hopefully last close encounter with death, was when he went skydiving with someone and their first chute got knotted, causing his skydiving partner to cut it free.
Forgetting about the extra chute, Leonardo DiCaprio thought they were plummeting to their death.
And that wasn't the first heart-stopping moment. He explained "Finally he unravels it in mid-air. The fun part was when he said, 'You're probably going to break your legs on the way down, because we're going too fast now.'"
The stuff of nightmares!
Leonardo DiCaprio stars in The Revenant coming out on the 15th of January in the UK.
