Famous buildings and landmarks around the world have lit up in rainbow colours to show their support for the victims of the horrific Orlando shooting.

49 people were killed and more injured when gunman, 29-year-old Omar Mateen, opened fire at a gay nightclub on Sunday morning before being shot down by police.

To show their support for the victims of the attack, countries around the world have begun to light up their famous landmarks as a touching tribute.

After the horrific incident occurred, American President Barack Obama, condemned the massacre as an “act of terror and an act of hate”.

Various celebrities have also been calling for tighter gun controls on Twitter.
