Kim Kardashian has discussed the emotional moment when she decided to split from her husband of almost seven years, Kanye West, in the last ever episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. In the finale episode, the star explained that her mindset changed when she turned 40.

It was one of the biggest showbiz shocks of the year when Kim Kardashian announced she was filing for divorce from her husband Kanye West, and despite a number of rumours about the cause of their split, mum-of-four Kim has now spoken about the emotional moment in her life.

In the last ever episode, Kim revealed that she has been in therapy since filing for divorce from the rapper. Speaking to her mum, Kris Jenner, the reality star spoke about: "Waking up at 40 and realising I just want total happiness", claiming that she was: "Figuring out how to get there."

Speaking about the emotional journey, she added: "I just feel like I’ve worked so hard in life, to achieve everything that I wanted to, and I’ve lived up to my expectations and achieved 10 times more than I even thought was humanly possible.

"But I don’t have a life to share that with. I do, obviously, my kids and everything, but am I just gonna sit here and think 'Okay, my kids fulfill me, and I’m good?'"

The 40-year-old then spoke of how she began to feel lonely, due to Kanye travelling from state to state. She continued: "I never thought I was lonely. I always thought that’s totally fine. I could just have my kids. My husband moves from state to state. And I just am on this ride with him. And I was okay with that.

"Then after turning 40 this year, I realised, 'No, I don’t want a husband that lives in a completely different state to me.' I thought, 'Oh my God, that’s when we’re getting along the best.' But that is sad to me and that’s not what I want."

Kim then spoke of how she wants "someone that we have the same shows in common. I want someone that wants to work out with me", revealing she sometimes feels like a "third wheel" with her sister Khloé and her boyfriend Tristan Thompson.

Fans are led to believe that Kim and Kanye are still on good terms, with Kim and her sisters wishing the rapper a happy birthday on their Instagrams. Soon after, rumours began to circulate that the 'Gold Digger' star is now reportedly dating Irina Shayk.

In a previous episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim broke down in floods of tears in a throwback clip as she discusses the heartbreaking split with her sisters Kendall, Kourtney and Kylie.

Wiping her eyes, Kim says: “I just honestly can’t do this anymore. Why am I still in this place where I’m stuck for years? Like, he goes and moves to a different state every year.

“I have to be, like, together so I can raise the kids. He’s an amazing dad, he’s done an amazing job."

Seemingly revealing the main reason for their split, Kim then said: “I just think he deserves someone who will support his every move and go follow him all over the place and move to Wyoming. I can’t do that.

“He should have a wife that supports his every move and travels with him and does everything, and I can’t.

“I feel like a f---ing failure. It’s my third f---ing marriage. Yeah, I feel like a f---ing loser. But I can’t even think about that. I want to be happy."
