As well as being a huge pop star, with hits like 'Firework' and 'Roar', and a mum to Daisy, Katy Perry is also a judge on the popular TV show American Idol, where she sits on a panel alongside Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

In a recent episode of the talent show, Katy could be seen wearing an unusual top, which consisted of a metal shape attached to a shiny, black single strap top. Before the show, she took to Instagram to show off her top, writing: 'if you see a shark you’re left brained, if you see #idol tonight you’re my bestie'. (sic)

However, it seems she might have fallen out of love with the article of clothing after she suffered a wardrobe malfunction, where her top broke, leaving her grabbing a cushion to cover herself.

The unfortunate incident was shared by Katy on Instagram as a team of people, along with her fellow judge Luke, can be seen attempting to help her with the top. While, Katy attempts to cover her chest, saying: "It's a family show"!

After Katy posted the video, fans were loving it, with one joking: 'You know it's serious fashion when the power tools come out 😂', and another saying: 'Hahaha! I love your sense of humor @katyperry 😂'. (sic)

As many fans will know, this isn't the first time Katy has experienced a wardrobe malfunction or a mishap, and not the first time on this show either! Back in 2022, Katy split her trousers as she squatted down, singing her song 'Teenage Dream', and in 2018, she fell flat on her face! Poor Katy!

Despite the singer being part of the American Idol panel for seven seasons she has now decided to leave the show, and speaking about her time on the show she told Good Morning America: "It's been incredible to be on this journey with them (Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Ryan Seacrest)."

She went on to say: "I feel so connected to America that I want to go out there again and sing and play music and hold their hands and (tour) and bring my daughter and show her and all that stuff."
