Earlier this week, pop star Justin Bieber stunned fans when he challenged Hollywood actor Tom Cruise to a UFC fight. The 'I Don't Care' singer tweeted his challenge, referring to the The Octagon - famous for UFC fights, saying, 'I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite ?'. sic

However, the tweet seemed to come out the blue and fans were left confused as to why the singer might want to take on the Mission Impossible star. Now, in an interview with American entertainment website TMZ, Justin Bieber has explained why he posted that tweet.

Despite saying if Tom didn't take up the challenge he, 'will never live it down', Justin told TMZ, "It was just a random tweet. I do that stuff sometimes. I think he’d probably whup my ass in a fight!"

He went on to admit, "I’d have to get in some good shape. I think he’d probably be out of my weight class."

When Justin posted his bizarre tweet on Monday, it wasn't long before Twitter users began to tweet comments, with UFC Canada's official account responding to the tweet with the eyes emoji, 'đź‘€'.

One fan tweeted, 'I think Tom cruise may be able to mess Bieber up', sic with another saying, 'Tom Cruise is a legitimately crazy person. You never fight crazy.'

Well, after all that excitement it seems that a Justin Bieber Tom Cruise fight is off the cards, with Justin just saying it was a random 'tweet' and Tom not publicly responding to the challenge.
