American actor Jason Momoa has became famed for his luscious long locks over the years, but the 43-year-old has decided to switch up his now iconic look.

Taking to his Instagram page to reveal he's shaved off his long hair in protest against single-use plastics, Aquaman star Jason told fans: "Doing it for single-use plastics. I'm tired of these plastic bottles, we've got to stop.

"Plastic forks, all that s--t. It just goes into our land, goes into our ocean. I'm here in Hawaii right now and I'm just seeing some things in our ocean that are so sad. So, please, anything you can do to eliminate single-use plastics in your lives... Help me. Help me. Plastic bottles are ridiculous."

Jason captioned the post: 'here's to new beginnings let’s spread the aloha. be better at protecting our land and oceans. we need to cut single use plastics out of our lives and out of our seas. plastic bottles, plastic bags ,packaging, utensils all of it. let’s aloha our ‘āina together aloha j. @mananalu.water'. Fans were quick comment on the post, one wrote: 'Hair grows back and it’s for a great cause! I’m sure it will look amazing ❤️'.

Another added: 'I never thought I’d see the day 😳 Somehow he’s still smoking hot - the man’s got a gift 🤷🏼‍♀️', with a third writing: 'Long hair, short hair, beard, no beard... doesn't matter. 😍😍😍😍'.

Although the Game of Thrones actor is yet to unveil the final results of his new look, he can be clearly seen in the video holding up his cut off locks.

Jurassic World Dominion

Release date: 10th June 2022
The dinos are back (with a vengeance). The last Jurassic World film left the series in a really interesting place, and Jurassic World: Dominion picks up right where that film left off. Not to mention the fact that the cast of the original film are back.

Lightyear

Release date: 17th June 2022
Buzz lightyear returns... in a way we've never seen him before. For testLightyear he's dropped the first name and this looks to be a very different affair to the Toy Story films. From Jordan Peele, director of the Get Out and Us comes the next instalment in his world of horror. Release date: 11th November 2022
This year we return to Wakanda. This is a somewhat sad return following the untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman. We're sure the supporting cast of the first film will be able to step up, however, and keep the spirit of Wakanda alive.

Avatar 2

Release date: 16th December 2022

Announcing the news in a statement online, Jason and Lisa wrote: 'We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding ~and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring.

'And so~ We share our Family news~ That we are parting ways in marriage.

'We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy ~ But so that~ as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty.

'The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived.

'We free each other ~to be who we are learning to become… Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life & our Children. Teaching our Children. What’s possible. Living the Prayer. ✨ J & L ' (sic)

Despite rumours of a reconciliation, Jason seemingly shut them down in March, but he did admit they have a very close relationship.

He said: “No no no, we’re not back together, we’re family…we have two beautiful children together. We’re family forever.”
