Jamie Oliver offers free food to those affected by the London blaze

Jamie Oliver has offered free food and drink to the '100's of FAMILIES effected by this terrible fire at Grenfell Tower Notting hill today.' sic

The celebrity chef posted a photo of the blaze on Instagram and said that anyone affected could go to his restaurant in the Westfield shopping centre nearby. The post read, 'Food and drink free of charge so just go and speak to my manager Juan'.

In the early hours of this morning (14th June) the news broke of a major fire in a 24-storey tower block in north Kensington, London.

People who escaped the fire at the Grenfell Tower spoke of others trapped and screaming for help, with some holding children from windows and others jumping from upper floors.

London Fire Commissioner Dany Cotton told reporters at the scene, "This is an unprecedented incident. In my 29 years of being a firefighter, I have never ever seen anything of this scale.''

In a statement earlier today London Ambulance confirmed that sadly six people had been killed in the fire and 64 patients (20 critical) had been taken to London hospitals.

Since the events have unfolded singer Rita Ora has also posted on Instragram saying that it is 'her neighbourhood' and she 'used to play in that block'. She continued in her post saying 'I want to do all I can do to help'.

Earlier today EE tweeted that those affected by the fire could make calls for free from any of their stores in the area.

Three mobile phone network have also offered access to a phone or charger to anyone affected.

Westfield shopping centre has also released a statement saying they are 'co-ordinating donations from Westfield, retailers and other local businesses.'
