Congratulations are in order for Hollyoaks actors Luke Jerdy and Daisy Wood Davis, as the pair have announced their engagement.

Luke, who plays the role of Jesse Donovan in the hit Channel 4 soap, shared his happy news on Instagram by posting two cute photos of the couple on holiday in Greece. The actor wrote, '(she said yes) 💍 @daisy_wood_davis is going to be my wife. I’ll take that.' sic

Sharing the same cute photo of herself showing off her ring, Daisy, who left Hollyoaks as her character Kim Butterfield in November 2018, wrote, 'On Thursday evening @lukejerdy asked me to marry him by the beach in front of my family. I’ve never felt a happiness like this. It’s so surreal but nothing has ever felt more natural. I can’t wait to marry my best friend and celebrate how lucky we are to have found what we have. Not to mention, he designed me the engagement ring of my DREAMS. I have spent the last few days staring lovingly at him and the ring in equal measure (maybe more the ring 😜) Let the celebrations commence! 💍❤'. sic

Friends and co-stars of the couple were quick to congratulate the pair, Rachel Adedeji (Lisa Loveday) wrote, 'CONGRATULATIONS!!! Let the celebrations begin! 🙌🏾❤️😩 Soo happy for you guys x x'. sic

Luke and Daisy have been dating for two years, having known each other for five years after meeting through a mutual friend.

Earlier this year, the pair spoke to OK! Magazine, admitting they are 'best mates'. Luke said, "We are genuinely best mates. That’s where it started from and I’ve never had a relationship like it before.

“We moved in together within four or five months. I’ve always been a bit judgmental of people who move in really soon. I’ve never moved in with anyone; I’ve always been quite scared to do it. It’s just because we knew each other before, so we just knew it was right.”

Congratulations to Luke and Daisy on their engagement! 💍
