Harry Styles has been on a worldwide tour to promote his self-titled debut solo album, 'Harry Styles', over the last year. The 24-year-old, who rose to fame as one-fifth of boy band One Direction after finding each other on The X Factor, has been working as a solo artist since the group's hiatus in 2016.
Harry Styles, whose album includes hits like 'Sign of the Times' and 'Two Ghosts', embarked on the tour entitled 'Harry Styles: Live on Tour' in September 2017, playing dates in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia.
However, it has now emerged that Harry has actually raised a whopping $1.2 million (approx. £915,684) during the 10-month tour of the world in which he played 89 shows. According to NME.com, Harry and his crew have been raising money through his 'Treat People With Kindness' merchandise collection, which will now be split between more than 62 charities. The 62 beneficiaries can be viewed on Harry's website here.
Not only has he been raising money, Harry has also limited his use of plastic as much as possible, as Reverb and Water Conservation revealed that 13,000 single-use water bottles did not get used by anyone.
He signified the end of his tour with a simple tweet which read, 'Thank you to my band, the crew, and all the of you for making this tour so wonderful. Treat people with kindness. Goodbye for now.'
However, none of Harry's heroic actions will come as a surprise to his fans, as Harry is well-known for doing good deeds. Many will remember the long hair he sported throughout much of 2015 & 2016, which he eventually donated to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that make wigs for young children who have lost their hair due to cancer and other illnesses.
