Fans concerned as Madonna appears 'drunk’ on stage amid custody battle
The singer has been going through a public custody battle with her ex-husband.
Madonna has sparked concern among her fans after some said she was tipsy while performing on her Tears Of A Clown tour.
The singer is reported to have arrived on stage in Melbourne four hours late and asked for two Cosmopolitan cocktails to be brought to her.
Dressed as a clown, she said: "One thing I want to do that I haven't done before is drink on stage,"
But she then explained that she wouldn't be able to complete her high-energy show drunk.
"You think I could get through my big show drunk? Hell no."
Some fans took to Twitter to explain what was happening.
However other fans took to social media to say they were ‘thrilled’ by her performance and that she was just having fun.
It comes as the star is locked in a custody battle with her ex-husband Guy Ritchie over their son Rocco.
A New York judge recently stated that the 15-year-old will remain with ex-husband Guy Ritchie in London, where he is currently attending school.
Madonna has since called on 19-year-old daughter Lourdes to help mediate the situation, according to reports, in a last attempt to reconcile with her son.
The ‘Like A Prayer’ singer has openly talked about her heartbreak by sharing pictures of him on Instagram and telling a crowd in Auckland:
"It's true, there's no love stronger than a mother to her son, and if I talk about him too much, I might cry, but I would like to dedicate this song to him. It's a love song for a man, but I know he'll be one, one day."
