Example On Winning Britain's Coolest Man Title

The singer has beaten Idris Elba to the title

Example has told Entertainment NOW! that he’s delighted to be named Britain’s Coolest Man by ZOO Magazine.

The singer, real name Elliot Gleave, stormed to the reader voted title ahead of actor Idris Elba and snooker player Ronnie O’Sullivan. Last year’s number two, Prince Harry, slipped to fourth spot.

Despite being chuffed at the win, Example surprisingly says it’s the first award he’s ever won in his career!

The 31-year-old told us: “It’s a testament to how pointless and stupid (award shows) are, no disrespect, that I’ve had an eight year career and I’ve never won anything.”

He added:

Example now joins former winners of the annual poll Noel Gallagher, Michael Bisping, Dynamo and Carl Froch.

ZOO Editor Damien McSorley commented: “Example is well worthy of the title, Britain's Coolest Man 2014, having elevated himself to become one of Britain's leading musicians.

“He’s got fame, fortune, a gorgeous wife, but remains straight-talking and incredibly down to earth. He beat Idris Elba, Ronnie O’Sullivan and Prince Harry, showing that class, background or even your job don’t matter to the men of Britain – just that you are hard-working, true to yourself and always up for a bit of fun.”
