Nicola Coughlan is one of the most popular TV actresses in the world right now, but she's been struggling with hurtful messages on social media body shaming her.

In a recent heartfelt post on Instagram, Nicola opened up about her experience with hurtful direct messages and nasty comments.

Sharing a selfie, Nicola wrote: “Hello! So just a thing- if you have an opinion about my body please, please don't share it with me.

"Most people are being nice and not trying to be offensive but I am just one real life human being and it's really hard to take the weight of thousands of opinions on how you look being sent directly to you every day."

"If you have an opinion about me that's ok, I understand I'm on TV and that people will have things to think and say but I beg you not to send it to me directly.

She added: "Anyways here's a pic of me in my hotel in NY about to go to SNL, it's unrelated to this post but delighted with my hair in it."

The 35-year-old Galway star turned off replies on that particular post. With almost 100,000 likes, support and love for Nicola ‘calling it out’ has swept the nation.

After what seems like an eternity, the second series of Bridgerton is nearly upon us, with the second series landing on Netflix on 25th March 2022.

Spilling all the tea to Elle magazine, Nicola teased fans of the show that romance could be on the cards for Miss Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton:

"Oh yes, it's going to happen! We used to joke about it, really inappropriate jokes, like, 'Wouldn't it be funny if we did this when we do it?'"

She continued: "As time goes on it becomes more real. Now it's not funny anymore! Everyone's like, 'You're going to have to kiss Luke! On the lips!'"

We cannot wait!!
