Coronation Street actor Andrew Hall sadly dies after a short illness
He was 65-years-old
Former Coronation Street actor Andrew Hall, known for playing the role of Marc Selby in the popular TV soap, has sadly died at the age of 65. The actor, who died after a short illness, was also known for playing roles in Butterflies and Blood Drive, after starring in Coronation Street in 2011.
The sad news was announced by the actor's management who tweeted, 'It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our client & friend Andrew Hall who sadly passed away on Monday after a short illness. Andrew was loved by audiences for his many roles, most notably Butterflies, Coronation Street and, more recently, Syfy’s Blood Drive.'
InterTalent continued in another tweet, 'Andrew was a true gentleman; kind, funny, always positive, hugely talented& immensely giving. We will miss him immensely. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Abigail and all Andrew’s family & friends.' sic
Many of Andrew's fans commented on the tweet sending their condolences to the friends and family of the actor saying, 'Oh no, so sad he was fabulous in Butterflies 🦋', and 'Well this news has totally shocked me. I have been watching Butterflies recently on #Gold. Brilliant comedy. RIP Andrew Hall x'.
Whilst some of his former colleagues also tweeted, Kate Plantin, who is a casting director said, 'I’m so very sad and shocked to hear this terrible news. He was a very special man and a joy to work with. RIP', with The Alienist actor Christopher Naylor saying, 'Such very sad news. Andrew was a lovely man and a pleasure to work with.'
