Rumours have begun swirling that Cheryl Tweedy is in talks to appear as Roxie Hart in the West End production of Chicago. After watching the show on Wednesday (6th June) with some friends, Cheryl reportedly had a discussion with the New York producer of the show, Barry Weissler, who was also in the audience.

Apparently, they had a chat over whether Cheryl could take on the role of Roxie Hart in a "limited guest stint."

However, a rep for Cheryl has now told Metro.co.uk that the rumours are completely false, and that Cheryl was simply watching the show as a fan.

They said, "This is not true, Cheryl is not in talks to join Chicago. She just went to see it with friends as she is a fan of the show."

The pair originally met back in 2008 when Liam first auditioned for the X Factor. Cheryl was a definitely fan of his talent and during the audition she said: "I like you, I think you're really cute. I think you've got charisma and you give us that little cheeky wink."

Unfortunately, Liam didn't make it past the judges houses in 2008 but he later auditioned for the show AGAIN in 2010...

To be fair, Cheryl has a LOT on at the moment as she's not only focussing on her musical comeback - she's also raising her one-year-old son with boyfriend Liam Payne on her own at the moment as he's currently on a world tour promoting his solo music.

Cheryl's last music release was her 2014 album 'Only Human', which peaked at number 7 in the UK charts and featured hits such as 'Crazy Stupid Love' and 'I Don't Care'.

She has been spotted in the studio with producer Naughty Boy and her Girls Aloud bandmate Nicola Roberts, who both hinted that they'd been recording music.

Taking to Instagram in January, Nicola posted a photo of herself with Cheryl and Naughty Boy, and captioning it, 'I never say this but just for this one time - watch out !! ā™„ļø āœļø šŸŽ¼šŸ”„.'
