BRIT Awards Winners Enjoy Album Chart Sales Surge

Bastille climb back to the summit with 'Bad Blood'

Published 24th Feb 2014

Winners and performers at last week’s BRIT Awards have enjoyed a huge albums sale surge in the aftermath of the event.

Bastille leapt nine places back to the chart summit with their debut album ‘Bad Blood’ after being named Best British Breakthrough Act at London’s O2 Arena.

Fresh from storming to the British Group and Album of the Year titles, Sheffield’s prodigal sons Arctic Monkeys also jumped nine positions to no.2.

Although they went home empty handed on the night, Disclosure are at no.3 with ‘Settle’ and their co-performer, International Female winner Lorde, is at number nine.

Best British Female winner Ellie Goulding is at four with ‘Halcyon’ and Best British Single winners Rudimental are at five with their acclaimed debut ‘Home’.

Beyonce, London Grammar, Katy B and John Newman who were all present at the glitzy bash all dented the Top 10, according to the Official Charts Company.

The sales surge is bad news for Nina Nesbitt who had been leading the Midweek Album Chart with her first release ‘Peroxide’ but slipped to no.11 by Sunday.
