Rising pop star Anne-Marie has thanked her friend and fellow singer, Ed Sheeran, for helping her to grow in confidence and increasing her ticket sales ahead of her own tour later this year. The pair have toured across Europe over the past year and speaking in a recent interview with the Standard Anne-Marie said, “Without these kinds of experiences it would take a lot longer for me to get in the swing of things with performing.”
She went on to explain, “Performing is such a big part of being an artist and if you don’t have that practise and experience it’s going to take a lot longer. Especially when it comes to these stadiums, I never thought I would get used to it."
Later this year Anne-Marie will embark on her 'Speak Your Mind Tour' in support of her debut album, and she credits the success of the sales for her tour to Ed Sheeran.
Anne-Marie also joined Ed on tour last year across Europe and described the experience as "amazing".
Whilst on tour she celebrated her birthday, when asked if they got up to anything wild or stupid after their shows Anne-Marie admitted she was keen to "be good" and look after her voice. However, she did end up spending her birthday in Paris and Barcelona saying, "It was really amazing to celebrate my birthday on tour, every night was just incredible".
"It's finally coming. It's actually so scary now as well. I was really impatient about it coming out, and now it's finally on, I'm a bit scared."
She went on to say, "It's scary because it's taken about five years, it's been in the making for five years. People's expectation is scaring me, cos I hope that they like it, but you never know.
"I'm just hoping everyone likes it. I've tried to put as much as myself on it as possible. Loads of different vibes, different subjects, different things that I'm talking about - it's just scary."
However Anne-Marie had nothing to worry about as her album went to number 3 in the UK.
See which other pop albums we're looking forward to this year.

Rihanna
Remember when it was normal to expect a Rihanna album near enough every year? 'Rated R', 'Loud', 'Talk That Talk' and 'Unapologetic' were all released within 12 months of each other. However, she has been busy with Fenty beauty so we can anticipate a 2018 release to make up for lost time.
Cheryl
Former Girls Aloud star Cheryl is putting in 100% for her comeback album and has even recruited star producer Naughty Boy to produce a track (or two?). She took to her socials to share some exciting news which hinted that she was in the studio with her former band mate Nicola Roberts. Possible 2018 album? We think so!
Rita Ora
She has four UK Number 1 hit singles but due to label conflicts, we've been waiting since 2012 for a follow up to her debut album, 'Ora'. Thankfully, now signed to Atlantic, her album is scheduled for 2018.
Nick Jonas
Following his 2016 album 'Last Year Was Complicated' - a break-up album, the ex-Jonas brother has promised his new music in 2018 and a potential party album. Yes!
Little Mix
The four ladies never rest! Having dominated the Top 40 all year long with 'Glory Days', rumour has it that we should be expecting a little something on the later side of 2018. Take your time ladies, but not too long!
Selena Gomez
It's been a long time coming. The singer has released 'It Ain't Me', 'Bad Liar', 'Fetish' and 'Wolves' all in the last year and undergone a life-changing kidney transplant. Selena is in better spirits and has an album coming. She has confirmed "there is an album" and "it will be out very soon". We're rooting for you Gomez.
Rag'n'Bone Man
He confirmed in an interview he has 10 songs ready for a second album so why wouldn't he release it this year? This would follow-up his chart-topping debut LP 'Human'.
Liam Payne
The pop artist has already released 3 major tracks, 'Strip That Down', 'Bedroom Floor' and 'Get Low' with DJ Zedd. In a recent interview he said his album is "out in January". Well, we're waiting Liam!
