Amy Winehouse To Be Immortalised With Bronze Statue in Camden

A life-size bronze statue of Amy Winehouse is set to be unveiled in Camden, North London next month.

Created by sculptor Scott Eaton, the statue will be revealed to the public on Sunday 14th September – what would have been the late singer’s 31st birthday.

Originally destined to be erected outside The Roundhouse music venue, the sculpture will now take permanent residence outside the Stables Market near to where Amy once lived.

Amy’s dad Mitch said: "The Roundhouse would have been great as Amy and the Foundation have a great affinity with the venue, but it would not always have been accessible for fans, we wanted people to be able to see it, touch and interact.

"Now Amy will oversee the comings and goings of her home town forever. Amy was in love with Camden and it is the place her fans from all over the world associate her with."

Amy died from alcohol poisoning on 23rd July 2011 at her Camden home.

In the wake of her untimely death, her family set up the Amy Winehouse Foundation to help young people with problems including addiction.
