Reasons to be happy it's Boxing Day
Don't be sad, Christmas isn't over just yet!
The excitement of Christmas is over, there's no more presents to open, no giant Christmas dinner and festive songs and decorations are suddenly looking out of date.
Don't despair though, Boxing Day can be fun too, with all those delicious leftovers, playing with your new presents - whatever your age - and getting online for some Boxing Day sales.
Here are 9 reasons why we love the day after Christmas...
1. Second Christmas dinner anyone?
Don't let those leftovers go to waste, whether you make a sandwich, curry to just another roast with your leftovers.
2. It’s a day to chill out and start putting those Christmas presents to use
New game, toy or gadget? Now is the time for you to get it out and play with it, whatever your age. That's right, with many of us having time off work we'll get the chance to use our Christmas presents.
3. There’s no need to get up early
Lie ins all round please! Time to a few extra hours of sleep, whether you're just enjoying a lie in or nursing a sore head!
4. All the stress of buying presents and organising Christmas dinner is done for another year!
Finally you can relax. The family have gone home and you have the place to yourself.
5. Boxing Day sales!
The Boxing Day sales are usually the chance for you to get out in the cold and pick up some bargains. Although many of the sales will be online, it doesn't mean you can't pick up some deals!
6. Time to catch up with your favourite TV shows and films...
Got nothing planned for the next week? Catch up on your favourite shows!
7. Boxing Day is one day when a messy house is allowed. Cleaning and tidying can wait
It might look like a massive mess, but that doesn't mean that it can't stay like that another day.
8. It’s an excuse to stay in your new Christmas pyjamas all day
With no one set to come over to your house you can lounge around in your PJs ALL DAY, and no one will care.
9. Boxing Day walks
Boxing Day walks are relaxing and a great way to burn off some of that second Christmas dinner. Well, it might burn off a parsnip or two.
